Westcoast Jewellery Nebula Tutorial Review

Hi Everyone
This weekend was rather wet and windy throughout most of Queensland and into NSW but now the sun is shining again I've been able to take some photos.

This weekend I had the opportunity through a facebook group we both belong to, to test a tutorial from Pam Gordon of Westcoast Jewellery. The Nebula necklace, ring, bracelet tutorial is available here

I used golden shadow Swaroski rivolis with Czech fire polish and round beads in honey with gold and brown delicas.

This was a great tutorial using Right Angle Weave to bezel a rivoli. Some experience with the stitch the tutorial uses is always beneficial but Pam has included good basic stitch instruction for those not familiar with RAW. There's also clear diagrams as well as instructions and also pics of work in progress which I found really helpful particularly for checking my tension. Mind you Pam does give you tension requirements but good to have something to check against.

I also followed Pam's instructions for turning the components into a bracelet, which you can see above. The tutorial also gives instruction for completing a ring and a necklace so you can make yourself a complete set.

I would say this tutorial is suitable for any skill level with good clear instructions for beginner and another bezel technique for those with experience looking to broaden their techniques and skills.

Here's a few extra pics sorry the light wasn't as good.

Soutache Challenge Piece

Artisan Whimsy has a Soutache Challenge on, with prizes from Ameerunswithscissors.com
The challenge gave a tutorial to use as guidance.

 My challenge piece
I started with the tutorial turning it into a pendant then added some other components which I'd learnt from tutorials from Amee's website.
I already had a stash of soutache braid so the hardest part was finding the focal, which turned out to be a shell coin bead
I enjoyed the process of the challenge and this piece is for me
