New Soutache Supplies

Here's my new Soutache Supplies. Last month I entered a challenge where the prize was a package of items from Ameerunswithscissors

The postie delivered my package today so I thought I would share
Four gorgeous bundles of colour with 5 shades in each a DVD of Harp Tutorial
and a kit for the Sparkling Waves Bracelet which is a class Amee teaches
So where do I start first? the kit, some ideas I aready have or shall I use a tutorial from Amee's E-book available through Blio
I'm off to have a coffee while I read through some instructions and start planning this weekends project...
Thanks to Artisan Whimsy for running the challenge and Amee McNamara for supplying the prize

Brown and Blue

The OTTBS challenge for February is blue and brown. It's not a combination of colours I have previously used so I thought I would have a go.

I thought I knew what brown was or is to me. Wrong.... there's lemon and beige and rust and more so just where do they fit in when you class it as a colour.

So that has set me off to find out more about colour. During this search I came across some wonderful blogs and a challenge called one colour crayon where each person made an item using one colour only. There's some fantastic pieces and lots to learn there.

So back to my challenge piece - I decided to continue with the colours I had chosen and the plan to play with freeform. It won"t fit the brown and blue challenge but nevertheless it's become a personal challenge piece.
So here it is at it sits on my bead table this morning. There's a little more to do before attaching a clasp. The results are - to explore freeform more, the structure, texture and colour and continue the pursuit of colour and how to use it.
