Well it's finally here 3rd reveal for Bead Soup Blog Party
So here's a reminder of the soup I received from my partner Lili here and you can visit Lilli's blog post here
It really wasn't clear what I should use for a focal and I really struggled with this box of goodies. So I went simple.
I gathered the red black and white lampies and a pretty clasp added some czech druks and wire and came up with this simple necklace
For the focal I picked the orange clay beads and added some small glass beads from the box to create this long necklace
then I took the focal made from crystals and tiger eye to string on more tiger eye beads
I attempted to make a necklace with the head using a spiral weave but it just didn't flow together.
I took the photos in my friends garden this afternoon and not sure if they've come up well.
Anyway to visit the rest of the blogs go to this list on Lori Anderson's Blog here where you can work your way through the list all in one place.
Happy blog hopping everyone!

Lorelle - it may have been a challenge (which I think is part of the deal ), but you handled it beautifully! Love that first red/black/white piece the most - those colors just POP! Having said that, your other pieces are great too! The orange/yellow one will be perfect for summer, and you can wear the tiger's eye one in summer or fall - very nice work indeed!
ReplyDelete*surprise*
ReplyDeleteYou used almost all the Gudo glass beads and you succeed to conquer the beads. Most of Gudo glass beads have large hole and this can be trouble for someone who usually play with seed beads or wire. Christine is right, the first black and red is so gorgeous *bravooo*
Thank you the red and black one is my favourite as well it just flowed and fits with wirework stuff I play with from time to time. The others worked out ok but not colours I can wear so I'll find homes for them
ReplyDeleteBead Soups are meant to challenge you but you managed it very well. Lovely pieces!!
ReplyDeleteLovely Job!!! What a fun Bead Soup you created!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces Lorelle!!
ReplyDeleteLovly work. Delicious necklaces.
ReplyDeletekathy
great designs! I love the delicate look of each of your designs.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kind comments I really appreciate the feedback
ReplyDeleteNice work with your soup! Lovely finished pieces.
ReplyDeleteRelly like the red and black necklace! That has to be my favorite. Great work!
ReplyDeleteLovely necklaces, good job!
ReplyDeleteI went to get clearer pics of the black and red one today and the red stripe on one bead has come off, I guess local artisan beads are not annealed, anyway my piece is now unusuable as I can't be confident in the quality of any of the beads, disappointing but that's how it goes sometimes
ReplyDeleteThey use 'annealed' too, but not just like annealing glass you already known in abroad. They are using their own tools *create* but in tradition way which I believe the standart is different. Gudo glass bead is tradition glass bead just like krobo from Ghana or India glass bead. Not manufacturing tools just like you all doing for lampwork working. So please, do not expecting the same quality as good as artisan lampwork beads. They use different glass rods and tools...complitely traditional...what makes Gudo/Krobo/India beautiful is their way to make glass beads still tradional.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, you had a challenging soup: I wouldn't have known what to use either!
ReplyDeleteVery nice necklaces. The first one is my favourite
ReplyDeleteWhat an eclectic pot of soup! The challenge for me would be where to start! Wow....you did a wonderful job on your pieces.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful necklaces, great job!
ReplyDeleteLove the top necklace - well done - nice work.
ReplyDeleteBoy, you sure had a lot of choices with all of that soup! That would have been a challenge for me. You did a great job. I especially like the second necklace.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, you met the challenge :) I like the red and black one, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces. Lovely bold colour choices, ell done indeed!
ReplyDeleteYour pieces are all very pretty...great color. Nice job with your soup!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely. Layering necklaces like this is all the rage at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI would have struggled too. Just so many choices. I just love the black and red necklace. It might be simple but the colors and how you placed them certainly makes a statement.
ReplyDeleteWow, your helping of soup was HUGE! I don't know how you ever decided where to start, but you did an excellent job with it. I especially like that long necklace with the orange and green. I'm gearing up for summer and that one seems perfect for the season! Nicely done. :)
